According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, recent data suggest that 30 percent of marijuana users have some degree of “marijuana use disorder.” This often aligns with a dependence on marijuana that, in some cases, can become an addiction. The institute also reports that after inhaling marijuana, a user’s heart rate may increase by 20 to 50 beats per minute.
Buffalo player Seantrel Henderson is suspended after failing a urine test. Though a repeat offender, Henderson maintains that this time he had reason for using: Pot is the only thing that provides relief from the pain of Crohn’s disease, a malady for which he underwent surgery earlier this year.
Just a routine day in the life of an interesting guy who has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu, and who shot and tweeted the first pictures of Harrison Ford’s vintage plane after the movie star crashed it on an L.A. golf course in 2015.
“The NFL is the greatest reality show on television,” Siciliano said. “It’s real people, with real talent, unscripted. You never know what you’re going to get every week.
Although the play was controversial — Cousins’ arm appeared to be going forward — do you really think he would’ve led the Redskins on a game-winning touchdown drive? He had no protection in the game (he was sacked four times) and had a hard time hitting receivers.
As for the Cowboys’ offense, they weren’t bad, either. Ezekiel Elliott hit the 100-yard mark (104), and six receivers finished the game with 30 or more yards, including Jason Witten, who passed Michael Irvin as the Cowboys’ all-time leading receiver.
Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen provide a dangerous backfield combination. They still get to play the Bengals, Browns and 49ers.
Mitchell Trubisky is 2-1 as a starter, but the Bears are winning despite him. He’s completed eight and four passes in those two victories, the latter of which saw the Bears fail to score an offensive touchdown. It’s not realistic for the Bears to think they keep winning like that. Two of their three wins have come in overtime.
Derek Carr is a stud, and there’s too much talent in their pass rush of Khalil Mack, Mario Edwards and Bruce Irvin for them not to figure it out on defense at some point.
The NFL has fought doggedly to preserve the six-game suspension Roger Goodell issued to Ezekiel Elliott. The latest step in that lengthy process is appealing the decision of a federal court in Texas to grant an injunction that will let Elliott play until his lawsuit against the NFL is completed. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league took that step Monday morning.
In its motion, the NFL said that if the court didn’t issue a ruling by the close of business on Thursday, it would appeal to a higher court. No decision came on Thursday, and the league filed another appeal with the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in Texas on Friday morning, according to sports and gaming attorney Daniel Wallach.
Vaccaro admitted he didn’t play his best in Week 1 but said he was surprised that he was benched.
Watkins, to the delight of Rams fans as well as his fantasy owners, lit up the stat sheet with six catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns, but as he crossed the goal line for his second score, he took a helmet-to-helmet hit. He was taken into the medical tent on the team’s sideline before going back to the locker room.
Austin didn’t catch a pass but rushed for 14 yards on three carries. He left the game around the same time as Watkins.
While the NFL’s policy mandates that players be cleared by an independent doctor before returning to practice or competition after sustaining a concussion, Watkins and Austin have 10 days to get healthy ahead of the Rams’ next game, Oct. 1 at the Cowboys.
The Cowboys welcomed the Giants to AT&T Stadium for the season opener of Sunday Night Football, and things did not go the Giants’ way. The Cowboys trounced them, wearing down the Giants defense en route to a 19-3 win.
Dallas held the Giants scoreless through the better part of three quarters, when New York finally managed to get into position to kick a field goal. But the defense had no answer for the Dallas offense, which was at full strength with Ezekiel Elliott on the field.
Lynch ran with the same bruising style that we grew to love over the course of his career — particularly when he was in Seattle. His first run since returning showed his finesse, patience, and power.
There’s also no other player in the NFL that can make a 1-yard run look this impressive. Lynch was nearly tackled three yards behind the line of scrimmage, before he made a defender miss, and dragged another with him for a first down on 4th and 1.
Donald, 26, is in the fourth year of his rookie contract and is due to make $1.8 million in base salary this year. The Rams also picked up his fifth-year option next season, paying him roughly $6.9 million, but Donald is hoping to negotiate a new contract that will put him among the highest-paid defensive tackles in the NFL.
The Rams are scheduled to host the Redskins at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Fellow Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger told ESPN the news of Cravens’ possible retirement was “shocking.”
“He has to handle what he needs to handle, whether mental or with his family. We’re here to support him,” Swearinger said. “That’s tough. I’m not in those shoes, so I can’t speak on him, so whatever he’s dealing with I’m praying for him and hopefully he’ll be back.
